Woody Allen’s latest film You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger was set in London. The one before that (Vicky Christina Barcelona) was set in Barcelona. His next film is set in Paris. He has just announced his next project will be set in Rome. Anyone else starting to suspect Woody is just using filmmaking as an excuse to go on holiday? I mean, judging by You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger he certainly isn’t paying too much attention to the actual filmmaking…
I don’t want to be whiny bitch, but I really wish people would use sources on Tumblr more often. I put my work up here for criticism, for input, just to get it out there. Most people use Tumblr to post things they love, things that represent who they are - so of course, I love it when people reblog my designs. But what I don’t like is when people a) re-post my work without a link back to me or an acknowledgement or, even worse, b) pretend that it is their own.
When you post something that isn’t yours - a photograph someone else took, a poster that someone else designed, a poem that someone else wrote, whatever - source it. Not only is this common courtesy, it lets the creator know that their work is being appreciated - and then they’re much more likely to keep posting.
It’s not hard. And it means a lot to all of us who post original content on Tumblr.
No problem. I saw your Albert Einstein illustration, it’s pretty amazing. Thanks for following back.
I’ve neglected this Tumblr lately, partially because I’ve been busy with college and partially because I’ve just had nothing to post. I have my final major project to post (poster for Godard’s Breathless, basically the perfect brief for me) but apart from that I haven’t been doing that much design. Revision and finishing my Art History coursework has had to take priority unfortunately. And I wanted to avoid too many personal posts and keep this blog mostly focused on design - there are already too many places online for me to post everything I think of that is slightly witty, this doesn’t need to become one of them.
But after my exams, I’ll be back to being a jobbing designer. I’m planning on doing lots of freelance work over the summer - just have to get through my A Levels first.
